Bryce Noah Amiel: Welcome!
Shalom Baby Bryce Noah Amiel! Mazel Tov! You made it into our lives! Welcome Aquarian sweet heart - Our dragon prince - Our little "PutzKele"
- Today Bryce is going to be 6 days old. We are now at home adjusting and resting. January 26th, weighing 7 lbs 4 oz (3.4 kilo) at 5:44 pm the little man was born. We are blessed and grateful for his health and pleasant demeanor. He takes after daddy with his strength and coordination. His is a charmer and he takes after his mother with his love for food.
We arrived at the hospital around 6:30 in the morning. I was pretty impressed with the labor process as it is such a miracle and an incredible experience. I feel very fortunate that after a fairly short amount of time I reached the big "10." We felt it was time to push at 2:pm, however, at that time I chose the epidural and my contractions were delayed. I had a chance to relax a bit, crack a few jokes with the nurses.. By 4pm, we started to push. After an hour and a half of pushing, baby's vitals began to drop a bit and I was instructed to push hard and effectively. At the last min.... he was born. The doctor saw right away why his vitals went down, the cord was wrapped around his neck twice. Fortunately the cord was quite long and not tight. . The doctor wiped him down and placed him on my chest - what a perfect child.
The doctor was so calm yet precise. Our doula was absolutely amazing to get us through everything. Steve was so cool throughout the whole process and also cut the cord. Very impressive!
This has been one of the most incredible moments of our life. Thousands of things have to fall into place. I believe the universe has been on our side since conception; a comfortable pregnancy and delivery. I still think its the universe's way of saying here is your reward for the 2+ years of struggling, trying to have a baby.
Well here we are! It's my 34th birthday today and what a gift from the heavens. Our little miracle baby is here. We are adjusting to parenthood nicely - but due to his jaundice levels that have continued to rise we have been on a 2 hour feeding routine since Monday- thus its not been easy these first few days. We r still seeing pediatrician daily for monitoring and blood tests. However, we are trying to cherish all the sweet moments with baby, sleeping when we can, and eating Carmela's (Steve's mom) most delicious food.
